Hi Parents! I am a tutor with over 10 years of experience coaching students. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology and a Masters in Applied Theatre from The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. I am also working as a freelance Applied Theatre Practitioner. I have worked with a range of people and communities and I value the different skills I have attained from these opportunities. I am a patient and encouraging tutor; I value each student’s individual way of learning and seek ways to enable them to get the most out of each session, unlock their potential and gain quality results. I also place emphasis on sessions being fun and creative as I believe that students retain information better when they are having a good time with their learning. I already possess an enhanced DBS check and am on the update service. My experience of having worked in a SEND school doing sensory drama workshops and learning of BSL Level 2 at the moment could also come in helpful with any student that might have additional needs and therefore require tailored teaching methods. I teach English and English as a second language as well. I have also coached students who have just arrived to England and English is my first language. I am also able to coach students taking LAMDA exams. So please do contact me to discuss more!

How would you describe your teaching style?

I am a patient and encouraging facilitator and tutor. I value each student’s individual way of learning and seek ways to enable them to get the most out of each session, unlock their potential and gain quality results. I also place emphasis on sessions being fun and creative as I believe that students retain information better when they are having a good time with their learning. In doing so, I also endeavour to boost my students' confidence in their own capabilities which will translate to them enjoying their learning and producing good results. I am committed to helping my students the best grades that they can achieve. When first meeting with the students, I will do an initial assessment so that we can better discuss the needs of the individual students with the students themselves and / or with their parents. We can then make a plan and focus the learning from there on.

Tell us about your experience...

I am passionate about working with students and bringing the joy of learning to the students I work with. I am currently working as a freelance drama facilitator; a role that equips me with facilitation, directing and mentoring skills. I am also an actor with experience in film and theatre and a spoken word artist. I have worked with a range of people and communities and I value the different skills I have attained from these opportunities. I have had over 7 years of private tutoring experience and over 8 years of facilitation experience. I have also given private tuition to students sitting for the LAMDA exam and have received great feedback from parents. My experiences of having worked in the corporate world for 15 years, of being an actor and a facilitator have also equipped me with presentation and public speaking skills which will be useful for some of the tutoring sessions. I already possess an enhanced DBS check and am on the update service. My experience of having worked in a SEND school doing sensory drama workshops and learning of BSL Level 2 at the moment could also come in helpful with any student that might have additional needs and therefore require tailored teaching methods. With primary level students, I tutor general subjects such as English, Maths, Verbal and Non Verbal Reasoning. With secondary school students I primarily help with English Literature, English and Geography. I am able to work with University students helping them with essays, dissertations and general polishing up of work principally related to Literature, Sociology. I have also worked with students who have English as their second language to brush up their language skills. With Adult learners I am happy to help with anything related to my fields of experience.
