I can help all students with intensive one-to-one maths tuition and exam technique, key stage 3 and GCSE, years 7 to 11. I’ve studied maths to degree-level. I've tutored students in Stevenage for several years and I'm normally fully booked. I am friendly, patient and organised. I have the ability to explain complex or difficult topics in a clear and easy to understand way, and I adapt my tuition to the student’s needs, working at their speed and finding out where they are struggling.
How would you describe your teaching style?
I like to cover the entire curriculum. I find many holes in a student's knowledge and there are so many topics to learn. The GCSE higher level curriculum has more than 100 topics. Each lesson I cover topics with lots of worked examples. Students learn better when they can apply maths to real problems. I like to set homework at the end of the lesson and mark it at the beginning of the next lesson. This ensures the student has understood the material that we cover in each lesson.
What qualifications do you have?
I have an Honours Degree in Engineering from Brunel University in London.
Tell us about your experience...
I have tutored maths for several years in Stevenage. I specialise only in maths at KS3 and GCSE. Maths is compulsory in schools up to GCSE and many students struggle with this subject. I'm good at making the subject easy to understand.
What locations do you tutor in?
I will travel up to 5 miles from the centre of Stevenage. If the student comes to me, I can cover a broader area.
What is your personal message to students?
Mastering maths is much easier when you have your own teacher to explain it to you and help you solve problems.
