Hi there! I'm Shannon! If you are looking for a tutor in ESSAY WRITING or someone to provide structured STUDY ASSISTANCE and help across any of the subjects listed (or others) - I'd love to be of help. From PRIMARY STUDENTS through to POSTGRADUATES, I am happy to work with you on your exam preparation, assignments, term papers or similar. Across all levels, my focus is on a creative, positive approach to discussing, planning, structuring and writing essays, analysing texts, composing reports and devising presentations and projects. For STUDENTS, I also efficiently EDIT, REVISE, PROOF and CRITIQUE ASSIGNMENTS or PAPERS you have already worked on. I have years of experience working with students completing their A-LEVELS, BACHELOR DEGREES, MASTERS (incl. MBAs) and that across a wide range of subjects, so please don't hesitate to get in touch if you need help with specific tasks even if your subject is not listed here - I would love to discuss the issues and see if I might be able to assist. It would be lovely to hear from you!

How would you describe your teaching style?

Tutoring is extremely individual and it is of utmost importance to me that tutorials and teaching techniques are tailored to the student's specific needs, personality strengths and natural ability. A creative approach to constructive learning is my aim and I'd be delighted to be a part of your journey. Whether it's on primary/secondary, A-Levels or University level, I am here to help.

What qualifications do you have?

I have a Masters degree in the Arts. Previously, I completed an International Baccalaureate and an Undergraduate degree.

Tell us about your experience...

I have over a decade of experience working as a full-time freelance tutor, teacher, editor, writer, translator, public speaker, drama and study coach. Additionally, having spent years in Switzerland I am also a native German speaker and fluent in French....if only it were as easy to learn a new language now! I feel very fortunate to have worked with many of my students longterm over the years of their studies. It is one of the great joys of teaching when you get to see students grow and, eventually, graduate.

What locations do you tutor in?

I am happy to meet in North London or travel to a more central location. I will also gladly meet at a library or (quiet) coffee shop, depending on your preference.

What is your personal message to students?

I firmly believe that being a good student has less to do with grasping the curriculum and more to do with a focused, confident mindset than is commonly believed. Such confidence comes from having access to the right studying tools. Anyone can learn facts - but it's the ability to learn and apply efficient and effective study techniques, techniques that will allow you not only to absorb information but also to process and critically evaluate it, that will truly set you apart in the long run. I consider it a great privilege to be a part of my students' journeys towards better learning. It is my goal to tailor my methods to best assist them with their specific needs and to make sure that I not only help them improve in the short-term but that they will be better equipped on their academic journey as they move forward on their own. Ultimately, my job is done when I am no longer needed...! So, if you think I might be the right tutor for you, I'd love to hear from you!
