As a private English tutor, I use my knowledge of English Literature and Language to help secondary and sixth form students to understand the GCSE and Advanced Level curriculum assessment objectives to prepare them for their forthcoming exams. I provide bespoke teaching sessions to suit students’ individual needs and support my students through their studies of prose, plays and poetry to increase their confidence and ability to answer essay and exam questions. I teach Ofqual’s assessment objectives, which are to read, understand and respond to texts, analyse language, form and structure, show relationships between texts and contexts, and to use a range of vocabulary and sentence structures for clarity, purpose and effect. I help students with comprehension by teaching them textual analysis to improve their interpretative skills and offer English language/literature past paper practice. As well as having extensive academic knowledge, I am patient with my students, who respond well to my low-pressure approach and excel under my tutelage.
