I am a friendly, creative and dedicated English tutor, teaching online and in South West Surrey. My key area of focus is English Literature A-level (Edexcel; AQA) and International Baccalaureate at KS5. I am able to support students in their understanding and analysis of texts, essay writing, coursework and exam preparation. Recently taught A-level/ IB drama, prose and poetry texts include: Othello, A Midsummer Night`s Dream, Twelfth Night, A Streetcar Named Desire, Doctor Faustus, A Doll`s House, Frankenstein, Wuthering Heights, Mrs Dalloway, Hard Times, The Handmaid`s Tale, Never Let Me Go, Atonement, The Great Gatsby, Skirrid Hill, The World`s Wife, the poetry of John Donne, John Keats and Chaucer, as well as Romantic Poetry and the Poems of the Decade anthology. I am able to support students in their analysis of unseen prose and poetry. I take a pupil-centred approach to my tutoring practice, believing that the best way to engage students with their course is to ensure that learning is delivered in both an individualised and enjoyable manner. I am patient, academically able and committed to supporting each pupil to reach their full potential. I have a great deal of experience, and very much enjoy, working with pupils who have special educational needs, including those with ASD, PDA, ADHD, SEMH and dyslexia. I have worked in education, in both mainstream and SEN settings, for six years; I have a BA HONS. 2.1 in English and European Literature from a Russell Group university.
