I believe that your child has the potential to learn and enjoy learning. As a qualified and experienced primary teacher with 10 years of working as a Reading Recovery Teacher and 5 years as a Numbers Count Teacher, it is my responsibility to facilitate learning for them. It is essential that I have excellent subject knowledge and understand how young children learn. I can then deliver the curriculum in a way that is tailored to the specific needs of your child. There is a myriad of reasons why a child may be finding it difficult to learn in class. I create individual programmes to accelerate their progress. I will first identify their strengths. I will then build on these strengths, supporting your child to develop confidence, empowering them to take an active role in their learning and recognise themselves as lifelong learners with skills that they can take back into the classroom.
How would you describe your teaching style?
I will deliver 10 hours of tutoring, 20 lessons of 30 mins each (preferably at least twice a week). Lessons will be planned specifically for your child as I continually assess their progress and make professional judgements about the next steps in their learning. The lessons will be tailored to reflect your child’s interests and learning will be through game and practical activities.
