I am a recent honours graduate in physics from the Royal Holloway, University of London; I am currently working in Nottingham until I begin my Master's in physics at the University of Nottingham later this year. I have tutored maths and physics for the past 3 years for a variety of ages and backgrounds, as well as working in school teaching assistant roles and additionally running physics outreach workshops in schools. Before I began my degree I self-taught my A-levels in maths and physics; this gave me an excellent understanding of the challenges presented by these topics and how best to teach them. I also became competent at marking my own test papers and I am very familiar with the A-level syllabus for maths and physics. My tutoring ethos focuses on building the firm foundations needed to equip students to study independently with confidence. As they transition into more advanced stages of their educational career, the ability to work independently of teachers or lecturers becomes increasingly important for students; I believe helping them achieve this is the most economical use of tutoring time.
