I am a current ks2 (Year 3) teacher in Croydon with specialisms in special educational needs and literacy. I am also a qualified maths mastery practitioner and have a personal interest in raising attainment in maths for ks1 and ks2. I have a 2.1 BA Hons in English Literature and Creative Writing from University of Surrey in 2012. I will be available to tutor in your home home in the areas of South London and Kent from the spring term (post Christmas) when I plan to tutor full time. I will be tutoring for the 11+. I think it is important that children are taught to think freely and creatively, both in their literacy and numeracy. I use various resources and physical aids to help children move from concrete to abstract understanding and I have in depth knowledge of teaching and learning theories in both the early years and up to year six. Saying that, I am a fun and laid back tutor and aim to make this time enjoyable and exciting for pupils so they get intrinsic enjoyment from learning new things and seeing themselves progress at school. I am currently the class teacher of a year 3 class in Croydon and I have had experience teaching Year 1,2 and 5 classes during my PGCE training.
