Recent Durham University graduate. I graduated with a first-class degree in economics and management. At A-Level I achieved an A* in Mathematics and so can assist tutoring in either subject area.
How would you describe your teaching style?
I am a very personable tutor. Firstly, I would like to find out where a person's area of weakness is. I then compile a number of practice example questions that target this area of study. I will provide help with how to complete one example before allowing my student to attempt it themselves. If they struggle, I help them with a simple to understand step-by-step explanation of how to complete the example. Importantly, I take a patient approach. If the student does not immediately understand the process to answer the question, I revisit it and explain it carefully, making sure to listen to any queries they have.
What qualifications do you have?
First Class degree - BA Economics with Management from Durham University A*AAA at A-Levels in Mathematics, Economics, Geography and Spanish 9 A*s and an A at IGCSE
Tell us about your experience...
I have recently been tutoring for children of family friends. Having recently graduated from University and completed a number of graduate applications for work commencing September 2021, I now have a long period of time which I can dedicate to helping students pass their exams. Given the current circumstances, I use Zoom and/or Microsoft Teams to organise tutoring lessons.
What locations do you tutor in?
London, however, given the current situation, I would adopt online tutoring through video conference.
What is your personal message to students?
I have been in the same situation as you. It is tough and aggravating when you are struggling to understand or solve a problem. However, with dedication and time, you always eventually get there. Hopefully, with the help I can provide you, this can be achieved at an advanced pace.
