23-year-old medical student at Cardiff University looking to tutor KS3 and (I)GCSE students in mathematics and science. I achieved top grades in A-Level Biology, Chemistry and Physics as well as AS Maths, and am looking to help students in these subjects achieve through secondary school. My focus is both on helping people understand how the science actually works and fostering an understanding of the content of the exam and getting to grips with the kinds of questions that the exam board asks, and gaining an appreciation of what the appropriate answers are for the exam paper. I have the recent experience of jumping through Exam Board hoops! My tutoring style uses exercises and past paper questions to give students that familiarity of what exactly they need to do to gain credit - that's not *always* the same as what we wish we could write! I have, whilst being a student, been an Academic Mentor at my Sixth Form, where I helped students in Years 7 to 11 understand and succeed in the Sciences and in Maths. I also have paid tutoring experience as well as mentoring fellow students while at University.

Tell us about your experience...

I am a student at Cardiff University studying Medicine. Ever since school, where I've been an Academic Mentor as well as Senior Prefect, I have tutored various students both as peers and as work, in the sciences. I'm personally satisfied with my work as I have managed to tutor one girl who was getting Cs in Chemistry tests in Year 9 and is now studying Biosciences! As a Medic, I also have experience of the stress of UCAS applications and taking the BMAT and UKCAT.
