I have over 20 years experience as a teacher in both the secondary and primary sectors. My main subject is History which I have taught up to A-Level and I have covered a wide range of syllabuses and exam boards. I have also taught English Language and Literature up to GCSE Level. I have worked as a 1:1 Tutor with pupils of every ability. Everyone can overcome their learning barriers and succeed with the right help, including those with a special educational need such as dyslexia or autism. I love watching students progress and gain self-confidence and self-belief. My qualifications are: BA Hons in Modern History 2:1 St Hilda's College, Oxford 1991 PGCE in History Leicester University 1995, MA in English Local History with distinction Leicester University 2001. Level 3 in Understanding Autism 2020.
How would you describe your teaching style?
My teaching style is to start by getting to know my student and what the barriers to their learning are, as well as their learning styles. I then tailor the lesson with that knowledge in mind, allowing for two-way feedback throughout.

I have a degree in Modern History from St Hilda's College, Oxford (1991) and an MA in English Local History with distinction from Leicester University (2001). I also have a PGCE in History (1995)

I have a wide ranging experience of teaching for nearly 25 years, mainly in History up to and including A-Level, but also including English Language and Literature up to GCSE in a number of secondary schools. I have also worked as a One to One tutor with children from Years 2-9 in a school setting.
