I am a fully qualified, friendly and patient Science teacher, with experience in teaching and tutoring all three Sciences (Chemistry, Physics and Biology), and Maths at GCSE, and Chemistry at A-Level. I love helping students to find their way around problems, and promoting a love of learning. I understand that everyone thinks and learns differently, so I work hard to help students access all content, and I can cater for specific needs where applicable. I am available for online tutoring to provide flexibility where necessary. Please feel free to get in contact for more information!
How would you describe your teaching style?
I feel that modelling scientific theory and working hard to understand complex concepts and theory, is the best approach when teaching, and I work hard to help students find their way to understand Science. How people learn is extremely interesting to me, and so I hope to impart some understanding of how we learn, and I use this when I teach, as well as adapting how I teach, to the difference learning styles of those I am working with.
What qualifications do you have?
A-levels in Chemistry, Physics and Maths (plus an AS-Level in Art and Citizenship, and an EPQ). Masters Degree in Chemistry from Southampton University. Science Teaching PGCE from Oxford University.
Tell us about your experience...
Having trained to teach at Oxford University, I have then spent a few years teaching at a school near Oxford, and tutoring students also, as well as writing revision guides and resources with various publishing companies, I am now travelling around the world, whilst continuing tutoring and promoting my love of the Sciences.
What locations do you tutor in?
I am primarily an online tutor at the moment, as I am currently mobile, exploring the wonders of the world!
What is your personal message to students?
Science is often thought of as one of the hardest subjects at both GCSE and A Level, but with my support and your willingness to learn, I can show you that it is all about modelling and linking concepts together and that it is not as big, difficult and as scary as it may seem!
