Private Tuition England: State schools in England to employ private tutors in the classroom

The Private tutoring company TLC Education Group, are to base some of their private tutors in five state schools in England.

The idea has been embraced by Head teacher and head of the Parkside Federation, Mr Andrew Hutchinson.  The five schools are set to pay TLC Education Group £22 per additional 80-minute lesson, for their own pupils.

Mr Hutchinson aims to provide a ‘more bespoke’ package for his pupils and hopes to provide a more cost-effective way of targeting support at individual students.

The decision has also come under criticism as the idea could be seen as an unethical use of public money.
