I am a certified Elementary school teacher in accordance with the state of Kansas. I am also a licensed teacher in the United Kingdom. I attended Baker University, studying Elementary Education, and graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in this subject back in 2017. I had 200 hours of practicum experience in classrooms in rural, suburban, and urban settings, as well as a semester of student teaching in a blended learning school. Blended learning is composed of online learning and traditional learning, which has given me many tools to make online distance learning successful. After graduating Baker I went to Prishtina, Kosovo to teach 2nd grade at the American School of Kosova. I am now attending the University of Glasgow for my Master’s degree in Children’s Literature and Literacies and I will graduate in August 2020. I am currently a teacher for Primary 2/3 (1st and 2nd grade) at St. Ninian’s Primary in Glasgow, Scotland. I have also had experience teaching online through VIPkid, an online platform for students learning English as a second language who are based internationally. As a teacher myself, I know the struggle of bridging the attainment gap of having schools closed for an extended period of time. Not only will I be working with my own students but I would love to work with yours! My online lessons would take place on a platform called Zoom. A secure platform that has been used by teachers all around the country as well as many Universities for online learning. My lessons range from Math to English Language Arts and Reading Intervention from grades P 1-6. I will also be hosting some STEM and Science instruction for grades P 1-6.

Chris L
Experienced English and History Tutor in Glasgow West End
£20.00Academic tutorI'm a friendly and experienced tutor, with specialisms in English and the humanities more generally. I recently completed my PhD in English and Comparative Literature at Goldsmiths, University of London, where I have taught undergraduate students for four years. My academic background is varied, with a First Class Honours degree in English Literature from the University of Glasgow and an MA with Distinction in Philosophy from Kingston University. As a passionate tutor, I'm interested in thinking about the various ways students learn, and in considering how my work can meet different needs. With this in mind, I undertook a two-year Postgraduate Certificate (PG Cert) in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education, which I completed in 2018. I want all students to fulfil their potential and to exceed their own expectations. I do this by taking time to find how individual students work best, understanding what interests and inspires them, and preparing tutorials that will not only facilitate their active participation but also encourage them to read and research beyond their curriculum. I have an acute sensitivity to the needs and requirements of individual learners and I enjoy adapting my tutorials in order to ensure that every student can thrive.

£30.00-45.00Academic tutor
Hello! I am a qualified primary school teacher with experience teaching in the classroom and online during the pandemic. Whether teaching online or in the classroom, I am able to build a strong rapport with my students and create a fun learning environment. I am passionate about supporting children to reach their full potential through tailored teaching to meet their unique needs. As we return to a period of home learning, I am aware of the challenges this can bring. One to one learning can provide the additional support your child needs. The excellent benefits of individual tutoring have been made clear to me through; maths and swimming tutoring, one to one teaching of English as a second language, and organising interventions for children in my class. I am able to offer; primary school tutoring for all subjects, English as a second language, and maths tutoring for secondary school students. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.
