Hi, I’m a fun, friendly tutor with a First Class Chemical Engineering degree from the University of Leeds. I also achieved grade AAA in maths, chemistry and geography A-Levels and straight A*s at GCSE . Full DBS clearance verified. I've always been passionate about maths and science, and being used to helping out my course mates at school/university, I began tutoring my friends and my parents’ friends children, before successfully tutoring in my local area via word of mouth. Last year I really enjoyed volunteering in schools to lead STEM projects with pupils. I'm someone who takes great pride in helping others to achieve their goals and reach their full potential. I have experience tutoring GCSE level maths/science both online and in-person and experienced at adapting my teaching methods to suit my students individual needs and learning styles. I have great knowledge of the exam structure and curriculum and can help with exam technique when answering practice questions. I aim to build confidence and ability with exam questions, so that when the exam comes around, you'll be confident with how the questions are worded and can tackle them head on. I feel like my age allows me to connect with students better, as I have gone through what they are doing relatively recently. I have been studying and revising for exams for many years, so I know all the useful tips and tricks for success. I understand the pressures of school and exams, and I know how to explain concepts on a peer level when either a teacher or textbook doesn't explain it so well! I really enjoy getting to know my students and this way we can enjoy our sessions and learn a lot along the way! I am only teaching online at the moment, in this current environment. However, after the situation changes, I would be open to either carrying on with classes online or discussing potentially visiting you at home. I would be delighted to discuss your needs and how I could help you. We could have an initial chat about your current level, availability, future goals and learning style and even book in a trial lesson to introduce you to my tutoring.

I am a highly experienced teacher having worked in a number of secondary schools across England. At various points in my career I have been Head of Science and a Senior Leader in school. I have worked with exam boards, science associations and trainee teachers. Throughout this time I have enjoyed tutoring individual students to success alongside my full time role in school. I am now devoting more time to tutoring having found online learning to be a great way to help students build confidence and achieve their potential. I find that working on understanding of key topics allows students to face any questions which are put to them in exams and gives them the confidence to make the most of their own learning.

I would make a great tutor as I like to make lessons fun and engaging whilst also educational. I feel that planning and teaching a child on a 1:1 basis allows for me to adapt and change my teaching style depending on their learning style and what works best for the child. Depending on the subject, I would provide activities for the children to complete, some may be worksheets, but some may be more interactive where possible. Again, I would adapt this to the needs and learning style of each individual. If appropriate, I may set some extra tasks for them to get on with between sessions if I feel they would benefit from this. I am a qualified teacher with a BA Honours Degree in Primary Education and have had 2 years teaching experience in both State and Private schools, allowing me a wide range of experiences in a variety of year groups (Year 6, Year 3 and Year 1). I have a good knowledge of the National Curriculum and have been through SATs and Entrance Exam tests myself. I have also had experience in tutoring children before whilst working through my degree, allowing me opportunities to support children going through both of these experiences. I want to make sure that every child I tutor feels happier, more confident and more able in each subject I help with and for those going through Entrance Exams/SATs, they feel calm and prepared. I do not want any children to feel stressed or too worried about their tests and will constantly remind them that their best is all we can ask for!

I have finished my alevels and achieved A*A*A* in maths biology and chemistry. In September I will be studying medicine at the university college London. In my GCSEs I achieved grade 9s in all my subjects. I believe I have been this successful because of my ability to work hard and understand content quickly and this ability could be applied to other students in need. I have a thorough understanding of the subjects therefore can provide excellent service to the pupils. I also am great at starting from the basics and working with the student to slowly develop their understanding to the level they wish. I am patient and will offer as much time and energy that is needed by each student. My methods of teaching have also earned me my qualifications. I often teach from textbooks and sometimes I use real life examples and diagrams to help pupils understand the subjects. I can also set additional work for keen pupils so they can really get those top grades. During my previous tutoring jobs I have observed that those students who complete the additional work I prescribed have gone on to be extremely successful with the subject.

I am a qualified teacher and a very experienced tutor – to 2 generations of some families – and annual Xmas cards attest to their gratitude. One said ‘you teach children not just subjects’. I enjoy teaching children with a range of abilities – from those really struggling at school who need help to understand their difficulties and build their confidence, to those wanting to gain entry to academic schools at 11+ and 13+. I work in partnership with parents so that we can collaborate to support your child’s success. One of my former students who could not read at the age of 8 is now running a successful business. Others include a neurosurgeon and a barrister. Since Covid I have been tutoring online. I am willing to have one face to face meeting outside with children and parents during the summer if requested. I have come across most kinds of problems in my tutoring career but I won’t take your money unless I believe I can help your child. Please give me a call to see if I am the right person to help your child. £20 45 minutes £25 1 hour All books included Subjects: English, maths, verbal and spatial reasoning

I am an experienced tutor that has a track record of helping students go from C's and D's to As and A*s. Within 6 months, I was able to push a student from a predicted U grade in biology to a B! She was delighted and went on to study at the university of her choice and in the course she wanted. I have taken students that thought 'science isn't for me' and achieving C's and D's to achieving A*s and going on to study science at A Level (where I continued to support them) and then going on to become doctors. I am happy to provide a reference if you desire. I teach for the fun of it and because of that, I am very good at it. I have an advanced degree in Quantum Chemistry from the world's top University, MIT and a chemical engineering degree from another top University (UIUC). I also did EIGHT A LEVELS and achieved ALL A's. Inspired? Contact me.
