I am a first-year university student look to teach some students the subjects that I am passionate about, such as Psychology, English, History and more! I have extensive tutoring experience with not only younger students throughout my school years, but also with my niece and nephew (both in primary school currently), so I am very accustomed to being as patient and kind as possible when teaching others, especially younger ones! I have several highly-graded GCSEs, with A*s in subjects such as English and RE, and A-Levels in Psychology, Health and Social Care, and History of Art, and am currently studying a Bachelor of Arts in History at university in order to pursue a career in the subject, so rest assured that I am very academically-experienced too and absolutely love any opportunity to share that passion. I am a kind, reliable, responsible and patient student, so I would be honoured to take this tutor job. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this!

Hi. I'm Dr Ana Miller. I have a PhD in English literature and ten years of teaching experience at various levels (primary, secondary, GCSE, 'A' levels, university). While my main subject is English, I also have extensive experience within the humanities, teaching media studies, art, history and critical thinking. I am friendly, professional and passionate about my subjects and I believe in encouraging my students to access their enthusiasm to unlock their potential. I believe in an active and student-centred approach to learning whereby I provide the support and expertise that enables my students to play a central role in their own learning and development. My approach is to draw out my students' interest in their subject in order to develop their confidence and ability to engage academically in the most effective way. It is important when teaching to develop this enthusiasm within the structure of the particular syllabus or course outline - I encourage my students to understand and respond to what is being asked of them, whether it be for an assignment, presentation or exam. I also aim to develop my students' ability to respond to and structure ideas and arguments in a logical and clear way.

Also, being a qualified personal performance coach, has further enabled me to successfully support students in exam preparation and revision too. I am happy to answer any questions or general queries. An introductory session is free of charge with no obligation to continue.

I am a 20-year-old enthusiastic, experienced tutor studying at Durham University. I am passionate about teaching and I love helping people to understand and develop their own ideas- I find tutoring an extremely rewarding job. I have been tutoring and mentoring students since I was in school; for a year I tutored a GCSE Further Maths student and a GCSE History student whilst studying for my A-levels. I am currently tutoring 12 students, ranging in age from 6-18, in A-Level Maths and PE, GCSE/IGCSE Maths, History, English and PE and Primary English and Maths. Achieving 3 A*s in my A-Levels and straight A*s in my GCSEs means that I know the curriculums very well and know how to answer exam questions. I have found that being a young tutor has its benefits, as being of a closer age to the student enables me to relate to them easily and they often feel less pressured and more open to ask questions to someone of a more similar age. My experience of tutoring has enabled me to adapt to different teaching styles appropriate for different students and find varied delivery methods, as I understand that everyone learns differently.

Having qualified as a Primary School Teacher in 2011, I have experiencing of teaching across both Key Stage 1 and 2 and preparing students for SATS, 11+ and entrance exams. I believe in making learning fun and relatable to each individual and in turn memorable. I am confident teaching any area of the primary curriculum with a particular specialism in maths. I’m also passionate about using technology to enhance the teaching and learning process and if possible would place this at the heart of my teaching. Prior to the tutoring commencing, I believe it is important to talk with the child to find out what makes them tick and from there develop a way of learning that suits them and enables us to achieve the best outcomes. I’m happy to travel and find a time that suits both parties but most importantly find a time where that suits the individual.

I know that engaging a tutor can be nerve-wracking. From embarking on a search, to the first session, to exam dates, it can be a fraught experience. But I have the experience and the sensitivity to make this experience smooth, engaging and even enjoyable. I have a wealth of experience, tutoring for almost 5 years, since leaving Cambridge University with a degree in History of Art. My greatest skill lies in being able to put both students and parents at ease, through a combination of engaging activities, pitched at a comfortably challenging level, and delivered with confidence. This is partly helped by the fact that I act and direct alongside my tutoring. I can transform your framework of learning to make objectives manageable and tailored, and to find ways of helping you shape and realise your own ambitions. Using a combination of tested methods of increasing engagement and a constant process of adapting my style to each student, I have achieved remarkable successes with my students. This success includes academic achievements, but I am most proud of the consistency with which I have fostered passion and confidence in the subjects we study together. I love new people, new perspectives and new ways of working, and I look forward to meeting you!
