Chemistry Tutors in Wokingham and Chemistry Tutoring in Wokingham
I had been teaching secondary Level Science for over ten years before deciding to become a Science tutor. I have, successfully, tutored students at KS3 and KS4 Level. Many of my students have gone on to study Science subjects at A level and degree level. Before studying for a PGCE, I had a work background in Microbiology and Biomedical Science. My aim is to make learning Science fun, interesting and engaging for my students.

Do you need learning support for Chemistry? I can help you with your studies in AS, A level or IB. With over 40 years of teaching and examination experience in secondary schools (selective and non-selective, state and private) and universities, I specialise in leading students through the transition from school to university. In addition to degrees from UCL (BSc Chemistry) and Reading (MSc Chemical Education) I am a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and a Chartered Chemist. I will help you to understand and apply chemical principles and realise the wide-ranging importance of chemistry in today’s world. Don’t expect me to do the work for you – your progress depends on your own motivation and commitment. But I will work hard with you to help you achieve your goals. My self-contained study (with toilet and hand-washing facilities) at my home provides an ideal quiet environment, with excellent Wifi and all resources to hand. I will give you a free induction session to assess your current situation and discuss your requirements.

Masters level physics student at Royal Holloway University of London currently tutoring in physics, chemistry, mathematics and further mathematics at GCSE/A-level in Wokingham/Reading area. Through my experience of learning science and mathematics at GCSE, A-level and undergrad I wish to share my enthusiasm for the subject with others and to help them overcome many of the obstacles which I myself encountered during my studies. Whenever possible I try to show students the deeper concepts and intuition behind the material they are taught. Not only will this increase their understanding and appreciation of the subject but will also prove very beneficial in tackling some of the more challenging questions on exams. My maths teacher once told me that “maths is not a spectator sport” and it is this philosophy that I apply to my lessons. Maths and indeed physics and chemistry are not disciplines where you can simply memorise an array of facts or passively read textbooks and expect to excel, they require working through problems and applying your knowledge to truly master. It is for this reason that my lessons are typically focused around going through exam style problems and addressing the student’s weaknesses as we progress.
