The oldest academic discipline...English. To be good at English means to excel in many areas. I am fully equipped to teach this subject to Primary School, GCSE, AS and A Level, Adult Learner, SEN and ESOL. I am a BA Hons graduate in English Literature and Language (2:1). I have tutoring, journalism, proof-reading and book writing experience. I have recently tutored in a few projects for University students to help them achieve the top grades. I take care and pride in my students and work hard to make each one a success. I also have experience teaching Primary school English in France and have even been a children`s entertainer! My method of one-on-one tutoring focuses on upmost care for my student`s needs and utilising methods for better learning practices. I`d be happy to answer any questions and explain the process to you. I truly love the English discipline and knowing that there are so many students who would love to improve their English fills me with utter happiness and the best motivation for helping the student fledglings fly in the subject. I love to fill all my students with confidence and feel very rewarded in doing so. I have A BA Hons (2:1) English Language and Literature degree and several CPD qualifications in teaching. My first lesson has a 50% discount. This is for initial meeting where I provide you with my portfolio and I ask for and assess the student`s needs.
I am a 20-year-old enthusiastic, experienced tutor studying at Durham University. I am passionate about teaching and I love helping people to understand and develop their own ideas- I find tutoring an extremely rewarding job. I have been tutoring and mentoring students since I was in school; for a year I tutored a GCSE Further Maths student and a GCSE History student whilst studying for my A-levels. I am currently tutoring 12 students, ranging in age from 6-18, in A-Level Maths and PE, GCSE/IGCSE Maths, History, English and PE and Primary English and Maths. Achieving 3 A*s in my A-Levels and straight A*s in my GCSEs means that I know the curriculums very well and know how to answer exam questions. I have found that being a young tutor has its benefits, as being of a closer age to the student enables me to relate to them easily and they often feel less pressured and more open to ask questions to someone of a more similar age. My experience of tutoring has enabled me to adapt to different teaching styles appropriate for different students and find varied delivery methods, as I understand that everyone learns differently.

Hi, I’m Laura and I am the Founder of Laura Shields Tutoring. I am a fully qualified Science Teacher and Tutor. I graduated from the University of Hull in January 2006 with a BSc (Hons) in Biology. In 2007 I then completed a Secondary Science PGCE with a Biology specialism at the University of Bath, one of the UK’s leading teacher training institutions. In 2012 I founded Laura Shields Tutoring and have since worked with many students across all ages and abilities to help boost their attainment and confidence in Science. I have a proven track record of success, with many students going on to attend Russell Group Universities. I have a huge variety of classroom teaching practice in leading Wiltshire Schools, as well as one-to-one or small group home-school teaching. I am qualified to teach all Science disciplines to Key Stage 4 and Biology and Environmental Science to Key Stage 5. In addition to this, I have experience of being an examiner for AQA and OCR, I therefore understand what an examiner is looking for and how students can boost their grades. I’ve been playing the guitar for 25 years including experience as an orchestra musician on a cruise ship: a challenging gig that requires a good knowledge of many different styles and strong sight reading abilities. I offer structured lessons that take students through folk chords in the first position, barre chords, scales, and from there, along a path dictated by the student’s interests and abilities. This can range from; equipping the student with the skills necessary to write their own songs; a study of the blues rock genre as exemplified by the likes of Eric Clapton; acoustic blues in the style of Robert Johnson; jazz guitar and the art of improvisation; delving into the classical guitar repertoire and learning how to perform from sheet music. I also offer guitar and ukulele lessons for children. My approach, particularly with younger children, is to get them learning songs they know and love. This could be songs from films or pop music. I am able to help students who are studying towards ABRSM, Rockschool, Trinity, LCM or RGT grades 1-8. I also have an enhanced, up to date DBS check enabling me to work with children, a Safeguarding certificate (2019) and Public Liability Insurance. Please do get in touch for any further info. I look forward to hearing from you.

I am a qualified primary teacher with over 10 years of experience within education. After having my second child in December 2018, I decided to take a break from teaching to stay at home. However, I love my job and quickly realised I miss working with children and teaching. As a result, I decided to become a tutor and created Carole's Tutoring Services. As a tutor, I am able to help and support your child in boosting their confidence to learning, as well as their knowledge and understanding of Maths and English. I offer tutorial sessions for KS1 and KS2 of both 30 minutes and 1 hour - currently taking place on Zoom. In addition, I offer group Zoom sessions (up to four children) where children in the same key stage area (KS1, LKS2 and UKS2) can be supported together. Working online or at home can be different to working in a classroom, but it still allows me to adopt the same teaching philosophy I believe in and practise within my classroom: growth mindset. Put simply, it means mistakes help us learn and move forward.

I am a semi retired engineer with a passion for engineering. As a fellow of the Institute of Engineer & Technology I wish to help more students succeed in the STEM subjects in order to do my bit to address the UK's critical lack of engineers. I tutor GCSE and will consider A level by discussion. I am an engineer not a classroom teacher so my approach is different focussing on key challenge areas. I expect students to bring course work and text books and we then work together on the challenges that arise for each individual student.

Hola, I am a online tutor with a background in languages. I have recently completed my 2nd year studying Spanish and Linguistics at the University of Southampton and alongside my studies I worked at a tutoring agency. I specialised in helping students prepare for their English Literature and English Language GCSE but I have also had experience tutoring 11+ and primary level English. I would love to help others improve their language skills, whether this is for English or Spanish. For Spanish in particular, I can teach up to A Level and prepare students for what to expect from exams and how to increase their language exposure through writing, reading and speaking. Languages are my passion and I am eager to pass on my knowledge to keen learners.
