Private Tutors in Portsmouth and Tutoring in Portsmouth
With over 11 years of personal tuition experience I have come across students from a variety of ages and abilities. Many of my students have private tuition with me for a variety of reasons: some have lacked confidence in their own abilities, others need some help through poor classroom teaching at school or some are home schooled. Whatever the reason for requiring tuition my aim is to show my students that they can achieve anything if they put their minds to it. I know my subjects well enough to be able to help any student achieve their full potential. I have written 2 books so far. One is entitled ''GCSE mathematics: How to pass it with high grades'' which has already helped many students since it's release and the other is entitled 'Advanced numerical Reasoning' which is very popular with graduates and jobseekers who need to take maths tests online as part of their application process for a job. Both books have achieved best seller status on various websites including Amazon, WHsmith and Waterstones. Through private tuition I will be able to focus on any weaknesses which are specific to you. So whether it's an entrance exam your child needs to ace or GCSEs, A-levels or a university module exam I can definitely help.

I am a 27-year-old English literature and history tutor with an enormous passion for both of my subjects. I have been tutoring GCSE-level history and English literature since 2012; with some additional experience aiding students with language and essay writing skills. Since 2015, I have tutored students in A-Level English literature. My core aims are to ignite my student's passion for a subject and boost their confidence. Very often students come to me with a belief that they are "too stupid" to succeed academically. This is NEVER the case - the issue usually stems from a lack of confidence in their own abilities. This is where I step in with my morale-building approach and uplift my student's self-esteem through words of affirmation, encouragement and refusal to give up on them. I don't believe in authoritarianism and prefer to engage with my students on an equal level, encouraging their academic maturity through independent thinking and objective discussion. It is always interesting to hear directly from the student where they are struggling and why they believe that is. Through direct and open communication, I am able to tailor their experience and offer them a personalised teaching programme that they will benefit from.
