Private Physics & Maths Tutor. I gained a PhD in Physics from Nottingham University, UK. I have considerable experience teaching and tutoring at A levels, GCSE, IGCSE and University Foundation Programme. Being an Examiner for GCSE and A levels, has made me aware of the misconceptions students have and what they actually write in their scripts when they are under stress. I not only address these misconceptions in my tutoring but also focus on examination techniques to help the tutee attain better grades.

Thank you for looking at my tutoring profile. I will travel to tutees' homes within a 15 mile radius of King's Lynn, or can arrange online lessons via 'Zoom' (free app for PC, Android or Apple) or Skype. Many years of teaching in Norfolk make me strongly believe that a good confident grasp of English and Maths at primary school is the key to future progress in all subjects. Sometimes, in classes of around 30 students, individuals don't often get all the help they need to maximise their potential, and as a result, can lose confidence. My one-to-one tutoring can have a massive impact on confidence and progress generally.

I am an English BA student who studied at the University of Bristol from 2016 to 2019, graduating with a 2:1 grade. I am now continuing my studies at the University of Bristol by pursuing an MA in Film and Television. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I am unsure when I will graduate from my MA as all teaching has been cut. As a product of this, I am looking to fill my time with teaching students who made need online help during this period of uncertainty. In my first year of university, I volunteered as a home tutor for primary school children with Jacari Bristol, a scheme which helps tutor children where English is not their first language. I really enjoyed making each lesson stimulating and fun and would enjoy getting back into a tutoring environment. I have A-Levels in English (A), Media Studies (A) and History (B) so am ideally looking to tutor A-level students or GCSE students. However, my experience with primary school children equally means I am keen to help anyone with their learning, and hope I can help inspire students during this period of isolation.

I'm a kind, humorous, hugely enthusiastic teacher of some 17 year's standing. I have run successful English and Psychology departments. I have an exceptional knowledge of English Language (I'm a stickler for correct grammar) and Literature. I am particularly passionate about Shakespeare and poetry and encourage my students to lose the idea that these aspects of Literature are difficult! I am a G.C.S.E. examiner so know what exam boards are looking for: this means that my students know how to develop their responses so they hit the mark. For the past three years I have been helping prepare students for 11+ and Common Entrance; the success rate has been very high. Let me take you on a journey of discovery - English is exciting, essential and easy!

Often I work with students applying to competitive schools so the workload is intense, but by focusing on the student's natural passion and interest, the lessons are always fun, encouraging and interesting. I use a variety of tools on Skype and in person. ''I would emphatically recommend Naomi to any parents who would like to find a skilled and responsible English tutor for their kids.''
