I obtained my teaching degree in 1997 and have worked as a teacher in many State and Private Schools across London and as a private tutor. I have taught all the major examination boards for GCSE and iGCSE Biology, Physics and Chemistry. I start with the basics and build up complex concepts. Throughout the lessons, exam questions are set. Working in Singapore for 4 years, I taught MYP Science, IB Biology and the Australian Curriculum Maths and Science. When I teach A Level and IB Biology, I make sure students can be successful independent learners. I work to ensure that students can access information in their text books (building on the foundations laid at GCSE), build up concepts and write detailed answers in exams. I spend time with students developing revision skills. I find that it is important for students to feel in control of their own learning and that they have the skills to their own success. My lessons are clear, fun, engaging. We discuss real life examples and up to date research.

After a thirteen year long career in IT in the City (Nokia and Accenture), as a senior software engineer/technical project manager, I completed PGCE in secondary school Mathematics. My lessons are tailor-made to a student’s level of understanding and their ability. Students are encouraged to ask questions and to explore.
