Private Tutors in Hammersmith and Tutoring in Hammersmith
I am a junior doctor working in South London at present. I studied medicine at Imperial College London, gaining both an MBBS qualification and an intercalated BSc. Teaching is something that I have remained passionate about throughout my time in secondary school, university and now as a junior doctor. I believe the key to being a good teacher is an eagerness to learn oneself, along with a keen sense of curiosity and intrigue about new subjects. Learning about new things has always filled me with excitement, and this has allowed me to come across fascinating opportunities. For example, my interest in learning about the process of human development allowed me to find an opportunity to carry out research in a fertility lab. I was able to witness with my own eyes the development of a human embryo from a single cell - a real privilege! As another example, I have always been fascinated by physics, particular astrophysics and space exploration. The curiosity to learn more pushed me to search for an opportunity to engage more in this field with my background as a medical professional. After some persistance, I was able to arrange a 3 month research placement with the European Space Agency. As a result I was able to spend 3 months working a few doors away from astronauts such as Tim Peake! I have always had an enthusiasm for learning new things, regardless of the subject. Despite having studied medicine, my interest in other fields has persisted. Even now, I`m trying to become more about computer science whilst holding a full time day job with busy on calls. I am keen to inspire a sense of curiosity in the students I teach. I have had many fascinating conversations with previous students about matters beyond the scope of their subjects, purely because they began to develop a keen enthusiasm for learning. I believe that as long as there is a deep curiosity to know more and a willingness to persist, a person can take their career in any direction they wish and stumble across things truly unique and exciting.

Currently I am studying Medicine at Imperial College London and have loved every second of it. It is an extremely rewarding course that presents many challenges and endless learning opportunities. Whilst progressing academically is the priority, it is important to have a work-life balance and get involved in extra-curricular activities; I am part of a dance group and the surgical society at Imperial. The revision period, exams and applying to university is a highly stressful time where students need as much support as possible and going through this experience myself has inspired me to tutor for the last 3 years. With 3 years of tutoring experience and more I have the patience and listening skills necessary for great and rewarding lessons. I will help my students improve most importantly by encouragement, setting expectations and academic targets. I will ensure students have the basic understanding of topics before moving into more detail through good communication and encouragement to ask questions. Furthermore, I can adapt to different learning styles for the student but also introduce them to a learning style they may have not tried before which could be very effective for them. If you are interested then please do get in touch with me and I always offer the first lesson free for the student to decide if i'm the best fit for them and their learning :)

I am an enthusiastic violin tutor based in the Hammersmith and Fulham area. I love teaching everyone of all ages and abilities, whether you are an adult beginner trying a new hobby, if you have studied music before, or have been learning for a while. Music is the biggest passion of my life, and I love inspiring others to enjoy it too. I have a teaching qualification, the Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Music, which required me to document my teaching hours, complete coursework studying different teaching methods, and video and edit violin lessons with pupils of different ages and abilities. I graduated from the Royal Academy of Music in 2019 with a First Class Honours, and am continuing my studying there for my Masters Degree, so my hours are very flexible. I can teach during the weekday, after school, but also on the weekends. If I travel to you, I would have to account for some travel costs, but if you are able to come to me then I could lower my fees as necessary. My lowest rate is £38 p/h (if you come to me for lessons), and I have put £55 as my highest rate p/h, as that is what I charge for group lessons (2 pupils per hour)

I am a Chemistry PhD student at Imperial College London, having previously completed a Masters and BSc in Chemistry, for which I received the award for the highest overall mark on my course. Even after many years of studying the subject I am enthusiastic about Chemistry and believe that this passion would enhance students’ enjoyment of the subject, in addition to their understanding. I aim to tailor the tutoring sessions to the students’ preference of learning style and needs, this can range from discussing the subject on a walk to focusing on practice questions. I am a patient person who values the importance of fully understanding the content of the course in order to achieve the highest grades. This is especially important as exams change to include more content and test understanding to a greater extent than fact recall. In terms of previous teaching experience, I have held weekly interactive study sessions for undergraduate students and tutored A-Level Chemistry. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions!

Progress, Achieve and Succeed! I am a qualified primary teacher with fifteen years of classroom experience. I am also a skilled one-to-one private tutor. Having tutored children across the primary age-range, I understand the academic progression from one year group to the next and the demands of the National Curriculum. Having worked with Year Two pupils to prepare them for the SATS exams, I am able to help children in Key Stage One to achieve a good level by the end of this age phase. I have taught in a number of independent preparatory schools in London and Berkshire. Schools such as these often aim to help children to excel in Maths and English and to prepare them for exams. I have worked with individuals and small groups to prepare them for the 7 Plus, 8 Plus and 11 Plus exams and my track record shows excellent results. I am able to tailor my tutoring schemes of work for each individual student. First I establish a good relationship with the child and ask them what they feel are their strengths and weaknesses. I will undertake initial assessment tasks in order to determine their levels of achievement and to identify areas for development. I will share learning targets and the plan for future lessons with the parents. Children are engaged in my sessions and make very good progress as I use positive praise and encouragement in order for them to feel confident about what they can achieve. If coaching for particular exams, I include exam practice papers so that children can become familiar with the different types of questions and how to approach them. I have very positive feedback from past clients and my pupils have got on to be successful and happy in their schooling.
