I am a graduate of Japanese from the University of London, and current student of Music Production at Newcastle College. I have lived in Japan for over 18 months. I learned French throughout my school life, and have spent a few months in France. I have studied music theory, and have been playing piano for over 18 years. I favour a laid-back approach, letting the student decide how much they want to learn and the direction in which they wish to take their lessons. Group lessons in languages are preferable, as I find it gives students more incentive and inspiration.

I am an acoustic guitarist of 25 years. I teach and play the fingerpicking method of acoustic guitar specialising in folk and blues and incorporating spanish, some jazz and some more experimental influences. I also write funny pop songs with my 2 children:-). When they are singing along i know it's good. I have a learner-led approach which aims to maximise motivation and positive recognition of ability and learning. Learning music can be as hard as it can be rewarding so we need to notice when we've done well and recognise when we are learning. The lessons will be tailored to you or your child's technical and theoretical needs and we can either work from songs that you love or i can support you or your child to work towards grades.
