Fun, energy and passion are the fundamentals of my teaching, and over 22 years of experience has enabled me to finely tune this recipe for successful and enjoyable learning. My lessons are far from formulaic, but instead are based on getting the best out of each individual and their natural learning style. I have a first class BMus Honours degree and an A* in Music A-Level. I specialized in Jazz performance in America in my final year of my degree and also have a wealth of experience performing Jazz; playing lead saxophone in several jazz bands, and leading my own jazz trio on piano. Additionally, I have a strong classical music background. I hold an ABRSM Diploma in Piano Performance, as well as a distinction in grade 8 piano, saxophone and singing. I currently run a 16-strong vocal group who meet weekly, and I am part of a 3-piece, 3-part-vocal-harmony band locally. I live by the sea in beautiful Cornwall where I work in primary and secondary schools, both private and state. I teach classroom and instrumental music to all levels and abilities. I also teach privately online (very popular at the moment), at home or at my pupils’ houses. I am a classically trained teacher of jazz, classical and pop music, and have taught piano, keyboard, saxophone, clarinet, flute, recorder, guitar, ukulele, bass guitar, singing and drums in both individual and group lesson settings. I love to teach all genres of music to all ages. I have also taught in the classroom (Key Stage 2 to A-Level) over the last 12 years. I am a highly experienced teacher having worked in a number of secondary schools across England. At various points in my career I have been Head of Science and a Senior Leader in school. I have worked with exam boards, science associations and trainee teachers. Throughout this time I have enjoyed tutoring individual students to success alongside my full time role in school. I am now devoting more time to tutoring having found online learning to be a great way to help students build confidence and achieve their potential. I find that working on understanding of key topics allows students to face any questions which are put to them in exams and gives them the confidence to make the most of their own learning.

Hello I'm a Swiss citizen who is living since 2 years in Cornwall. I work in an international Re-Insurance company where I have to deal daily with all sorts of languages around the globe - and of course - people :-) My mother tongue is high German since my parents have immigrated from Germany to Switzerland where I was born. Having lived and worked in Italy for over 3 years and also in Spain on the Canary Island for a few years, I had always some pupils in all ages who wanted to learn foreign languages. I basically offer conversational courses on all levels in German, Italian and Spanish. My lessons have usually a duration between 45 - 60min - depends on what level the individual student is and what they want to achieve. I can also help with homework on usual school levels if requested, price to be discussed. The tutoring can be held on skype and also in person (within 10 miles around St Columb Major). For any further information please get in touch with me, happy to meet you and discuss any individual wishes or ideas. Best regards Sabrina

Hi! I am a teacher of twenty-three years' experience in both public and private sectors with extensive experience of teaching French and German to GCSE and A-Level with a variety of examination boards, including Cambridge and Edexcel IGCSE. I have also mentored several students for Oxbridge application. I am happy to tutor online and am available for home visits. I can also tutor English to GCSE level (language and literature) and have experience teaching A-Level Politics. I am a former Head of Department, Head of French and Head of German. Friendly, encouraging and, as an English native speaker, sympathetic to the problems facing English students trying to learn a foreign language. I am happy to fit in around your schedule. My methods are tried and tested, communicative, fun, rewarding and offer a very solid grasp not just of communication but of grammar and syntax too. I have a track record of excellent exam results. Equally happy to tutor adults just wishing to learn conversational, business or holiday French or German, 1-to-1 or in small groups. All requests welcome! I Look forward, very much, to hearing from you! Duncan

I have published eight books and have had my pictures exhibited in a number of galleries. For six years I have worked in education and have seen the excitement drained from both English and Art. I want to help restore this and, by so doing, make the student more confident and more lkely to succeed.

I have 25 years of teaching experience during which I have taught across the primary age range in a variety of schools. I currently teach part-time in an SEN unit that is attached to a mainstream school - our focus being to help our students back into their mainstream classes. Our students have a range of needs, predominately Autism Spectrum Condition and Sensory Processing Disorders ( though I have also worked with children who have Down's Syndrome, Dyslexia, Attachment Disorders) I have developed a vast range of strategies for meeting the needs of these learners. I am very used to planning and delivering lessons on a 1:1 basis; working out the barriers that slow down learning and seeking ways to overcome them is part of my daily practice.
