As a private English tutor, I use my knowledge of English Literature and Language to help secondary and sixth form students to understand the GCSE and Advanced Level curriculum assessment objectives to prepare them for their forthcoming exams. I provide bespoke teaching sessions to suit students’ individual needs and support my students through their studies of prose, plays and poetry to increase their confidence and ability to answer essay and exam questions. I teach Ofqual’s assessment objectives, which are to read, understand and respond to texts, analyse language, form and structure, show relationships between texts and contexts, and to use a range of vocabulary and sentence structures for clarity, purpose and effect. I help students with comprehension by teaching them textual analysis to improve their interpretative skills and offer English language/literature past paper practice. As well as having extensive academic knowledge, I am patient with my students, who respond well to my low-pressure approach and excel under my tutelage.

Have you considered learning German with the help of a native speaker based on topics and examples from your life? If you are looking for a conversational focused teaching, targeted to your needs, and based on a coaching approach; my private tutoring is for you! My experience is in coaching and NLP. I am from Austria, and I have lived in Germany for five years, and now I currently live north-west of London. During my career I have 15 years of experience working in sales and business development for international publishing and technology companies; as well as running my own distribution business. I am interested in tutoring professionals with a particular emphasis on the following industries: Technology, Engineering, Psychology, Sports / Lifestyle, Publishing / Media. My passion for teaching languages comes from my coaching and training of NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) which has turned out to be an asset in tutoring as it helps to ideally meet the learning style of my students. While my tutoring has an emphasis on communication, I likewise provide you with the nuts and bolts of the German grammar. Rather than an obstacle, I provide you with the necessary grammar embedded in our lecture; covering the simple rules, and I will teach it by repetition. My aim is that you enjoy exploring and mastering the German language in your own way, while I guide you with individualised teaching and support toward your ideal outcomes. I have finished my alevels and achieved A*A*A* in maths biology and chemistry. In September I will be studying medicine at the university college London. In my GCSEs I achieved grade 9s in all my subjects. I believe I have been this successful because of my ability to work hard and understand content quickly and this ability could be applied to other students in need. I have a thorough understanding of the subjects therefore can provide excellent service to the pupils. I also am great at starting from the basics and working with the student to slowly develop their understanding to the level they wish. I am patient and will offer as much time and energy that is needed by each student. My methods of teaching have also earned me my qualifications. I often teach from textbooks and sometimes I use real life examples and diagrams to help pupils understand the subjects. I can also set additional work for keen pupils so they can really get those top grades. During my previous tutoring jobs I have observed that those students who complete the additional work I prescribed have gone on to be extremely successful with the subject.

I have taught English as a second language to a wide range of people, from business people looking to communicate more effectively in the workplace, to young children struggling to make themselves understood outside of their home. I am also experienced in helping children/teenagers whose first language is English with grammar, spelling and writing skills. This is from KS1 through to GCSE. I believe learning should be relaxed and fun. In my experience, people who struggle with learning lack confidence in their abilities and this holds them back. My aim is to provide tutoring that caters to each person/child as an individual, finding their strengths and building on them.

After graduating from Amersham school of art in 1981 I went into a career in advertising and marketing and earned my living working as an art director. I'm a self taught painter and work predominantly in oils, specialising in portrait and figurative work, commissions to date include Antony Worrall Thompson and the Lord Mayor of Birmingham. I also enjoy the challenge of painting outdoors, working at speed to capture fleeting clouds or a setting sun, the light changes so fast and the most dramatic effects can disappear in minutes. I started painting in 2001 and was elected member of The Royal Birmingham Society of Artists in 2007. My work has been selected for exhibition with The Royal Society of Portrait Painters at the Mall galleries London on three occasions. WORKSHOPS, COURSES AND DEMONSTRATIONS - I run regular courses, workshops and demonstrations in painting and drawing for a number of art groups and societies across the uk and Spain. I’m fully CBR checked and also offer one to one tuition from my home studio in Brill Buckinghamshire.
