Mainly working in human and cultural geography, I was appointed the first Professor of Environmental Humanities in the UK at Bath Spa University, Research Centre of Environmental Humanities. I have published almost 100 scholarly articles and book chapters, and co-authored /edited four academic books. I have given 100s of conference presentations at UK and international conference including keynote talks. I have supervised and examined over 20 PhDs. My work has been translated into German and Finnish. When working for the Open University I specialised in helping students with little academic writing experience get up to speed with how to write their course work and dissertations. I am now an emeritus professor at Bath Spa University.
