How to increase your tutoring leads from the site

This handy guide aims to help private tutors increase the amount of enquiries they receive through The Tutor Website.  We hope our website will provide you with enquiries throughout the year, however, there are some things you can do to help improve your chances of being contacted through the site.  We’ve compiled a list of further steps you can take to increase your presence on the site:

Promote Your Profile Page

Each of our tutor profiles has their own web address or URL, for example:,140,0,1-england-bradford.html

*To find your unique URL, simply search for your advert by area on our ‘find a tutor’ page then filter it down by searching for your subject at the right hand side.  Your URL is displayed in the address bar of your advert page.

If you have your own website or Linkedin page, insert a link to your advert page on our site.  All you need to do is copy and paste the URL in the address bar and link to it from your site.  The more inbound links your advert page has, the higher it appears in Google rankings, increasing your chances of being contacted by students and parents.

Submitting your profile’s URL to free business and educational directories can also help generate website traffic to your advert.  It only takes a few minutes and can really help the ranking of your advert in Google.  Here’s a list of some directories that allow external links to get you started:

. School of Everything - create a teacher/tutor profile

. UK Small Business Directory

. Qype

. Hotfrog

. Cylex

. Free Index

Leave Comments On Our Blogs And News Articles

All our blog posts will soon allow readers to leave their own comments with a link to their own websites or profile page – why not give your opinion and add a link back to your advert page to help increase your presence on the site?

Write An Article For Our Blog

As a private tutor, you’re an expert in your subject – why not share your knowledge with other tutors, students and parents by writing an article for the site?  All our articles include a by-line and link to your profile page.  Articles should be at least 500 words long and previously unpublished elsewhere on the internet.  If you have an idea for an article or have one written, let us know and we’ll post it on our homepage.

Write Us a Testimonial

You can increase the popularity of your advert simply by telling us what you think about our website.  All our tutor testimonials include a link to your advert page which helps improve your presence on the site.
